Black executive Rashida La Lande earns $6.4-million salary from Kraft Heinz

La Lande pockets $6.36-million compensation in 2022

One of America’s leading Black executives, Rashida La Lande, the executive vice president, global general counsel, and chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer at The Kraft Heinz Company, received a total compensation package of $6.36million from the American multinational food company in 2022.

Rashida La Lande — who joined Kraft Heinz in January 2018 — received a base salary of $0.7 million and non-equity incentive plan compensation of $0.91 million, reflecting her pivotal role in the growth of the American multinational food company.

The Black executive also received a long-term incentive award of $4.32 million, reflecting her expertise as a seasoned executive—her leadership has not only played a key role in the group’s financial performance but has also redefined the narrative of corporate affairs and innovative sustainability in the ever-evolving food and beverage industry.

La Lande, appointed as executive vice president, global general counsel, and chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer in 2018, boasts a distinguished career marked by success at various levels. 

As a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in New York City, she demonstrated expertise in mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, private equity deals, and joint ventures, accumulating 18 years of experience. 

In her leadership role, she continues to oversee the company’s legal function, encompassing corporate governance, securities, transactions, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, litigation, and labor and employment. Her legal skills have proven instrumental in navigating the intricate economic landscape, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to excellence.

With her joint contribution to the group and leadership, Kraft Heinz Company has achieved significant growth. Revenue increased by 1.69 percent from $26.04 billion in 2021 to $26.48 billion in 2022 while the assets declined modestly from $93.39 billion to $90.51 billion. 

Beyond her executive roles, La Lande demonstrates her dedication to Kraft Heinz Company through her investment. She owns a 0.012-percent stake in the company, equivalent to 153,494 ordinary shares, with a current value of $5.78 million — this underscores her belief in the company’s future and her commitment to its long-term success.
