LIZ Aviation, a subsidiary of the EBOMAF Group led by Burkinabe tycoon Mahamadou Bonkoungou, acquired a new aircraft on May 25, 2024, bringing its fleet to four planes. Over the past five years, EBOMAF has secured lucrative construction contracts throughout West Africa worth more than $3 billion.

LIZ Aviation, launched a year ago, operates with two ATR-type aircraft, each equipped with 70 economy-class seats. These planes rotate twice daily, connecting cities within Burkina Faso. The inaugural flight took place between Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso on April 27, 2023.

This new acquisition represents a major milestone for the company. From the outset of its operations one year ago, LIZ Aviation had announced its expansion fleet to four aircraft.

“The acquisition of this new aircraft is in line with the ambitions of the EBOMAF Group,” emphasized Mahamadou Bonkoungou, CEO of the group.

With this new ART 72-600 aircraft, the company will enhance its service capabilities, particularly for connections with capital cities in the sub-region, including Cotonou, Abidjan, Dakar, Bamako, and Lagos. Additionally, this new plane will help maintain flights between Lomé and Niamtougou, Togo’s second airport.

The expansion of Liz Aviation’s fleet demonstrates the group’s commitment to improving air connectivity in the region. It also aligns with the Togolese government’s goal of increasing the annual passenger count at Lome from 900,000 (pre-COVID-19) to 1.5 million by 2025.
