West Properties Holdings (WestProp), led by Zimbabwean businessman Ken Sharpe, has begun construction on the $300 million Hills Luxury Golf Estate, expanding its real estate portfolio and aligning with the government’s urban renewal efforts.

The move follows the unveiling of plans for the estate in March at a diaspora marketing event in Washington, D.C. The development encompasses an 18-hole championship golf course modeled after those used on the PGA Tour, alongside villas, apartments, townhouses, a country club, hotel, tennis and swimming academies, and a shopping mall.

WestProp starts work on Zimbabwe’s Hills Luxury Estate

“Today’s launch, which will continue with the groundbreaking, starts the development of the rebranded Hills Luxury Estate,” Sharpe, CEO of WestProp, said. “Formerly known as Warren Hills Golf Club, into a mixed live, work, shop and play luxury lifestyle estate.”

“This is part of our contribution to the urban renewal projects as endorsed by the second republic,” Sharpe continued. “We are creating value of over $300 million through this project. We are confident that by the time it is completed, the value of the investment of this project will have grown substantially.”

Sharpe’s prominence in Zimbabwe’s real estate sector stems from his successful acquisitions, including Augur Investments and West Food Distribution. Under his leadership, WestProp has collaborated with Harare to revitalize commercial centers like the Harare Sunshine Bazaar, Mbudzi Peoples Market, and Shawasha Mall in Mbare.

Redefining upscale living

The Hills Luxury Lifestyle Estate, formerly the Warren Hills Golf Club, is poised to redefine upscale living in Zimbabwe. The development will feature 862 residences, including apartments, townhouses, villas, and retirement flats, with a 24/7 clinic and the country’s first PGA-quality championship golf course.

Emphasizing sustainability, an unprecedented 80 percent of the space will be dedicated to greenery, aligning with eco-friendly development standards. Residents will also enjoy amenities like swimming and tennis academies, catering to a diverse range of sporting interests.
