Elton Brand’s rise in basketball began at Peekskill High School, where he was consistently ranked among the top high school basketball players in the country, helping his team win two state championships and was selected as New York State Mr. Basketball, resulting in a remarkable tenure at Duke University, where his performance earned him National Player of the Year and led to his selection as the first overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in 1999. His NBA career spanned 17 years across five teams, highlighted by achievements such as two NBA All-Star selections and the All-NBA Second Team in 2006.

Transitioning off the court, Brand took on the role of general manager for the Philadelphia 76ers after serving as the Player Development Consultant for the 76ers and General Manager of the Delaware 87ers, maximising his extensive experience in basketball management. Moreover, his journey reflects a deep commitment to the sport of basketball, from dominating the college circuit to influencing the future of professional basketball through executive leadership, showcasing his multifaceted legacy in the sport.

GIBRALTAR FILMS

Gibraltar Films, co-founded by Elton Brand, is a production company that invests in, acquires, produces, and distributes cinematic films. The company’s first project was “Rescue Dawn,” released in 2007, directed by Werner Herzog and based on the survival story of a U.S. pilot captured in a Vietnam prison. Moreover, Gibraltar Films represents Brand’s venture into the film industry, reflecting his interest in supporting and creating meaningful cinematic projects beyond his professional sports and venture capital endeavors​​.

MILK MEDIA STUDIOS

Milk & Media Studios, established in 2009 by Elton Brand and Harry Knapp, originated from their successful collaboration on the film “Rescue Dawn,” starring Christian Bale. The studio engages in producing a diverse order of content including films, television shows, commercials, and digital content, demonstrating Brand’s broad interests in the entertainment industry beyond his basketball and investment endeavors.

KB PARTNERS


Elton Brand is listed among the investors in KB Partners’ Myriad Opportunity Fund II, an early stage venture capital fund which focuses on investing in sports technology startups. As at 2021, the Myriad Opportunity Fund II fund had secured $64 million toward its goal with contributions from notable figures like NFL Hall of Fame running back Curtis Martin and Callaway Golf CEO Chip Brewer, alongside Brand.

In 2008, Elton Brand partnered with Converse to create signature performance basketball footwear, which was announced in a long-term, strategic partnership. Furthermore, the line launched with the EB1, a signature performance basketball shoe that Brand debuted. This footwear was made available exclusively at JCPenney locations nationwide.
