Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu, renowned for his philanthropic efforts through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), has initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art administrative block and conference room at Al-Qalam University in Katsina State, Nigeria.

The groundbreaking ceremony, which marked the commencement of the construction project, was attended by key stakeholders including Ubon Udoh, managing director of ASR Africa. Udoh emphasized the pivotal role of education in national transformation and reiterated ASR Africa’s dedication to enhancing the quality of tertiary education in Nigeria and beyond.

The construction project at Al-Qalam University is scheduled for completion within a six-month timeframe, showcasing ASR Africa’s commitment to prompt and efficient delivery of infrastructure. With a $100-million philanthropic fund, ASR Africa aims to catalyze sustainable development in critical sectors such as health, education, and social welfare across the African continent.

Udoh commended the management of Al-Qalam University for their cooperation and proactive engagement throughout the planning phase of the project. He assured stakeholders of ASR Africa’s unwavering commitment to delivering on its promises and fostering enduring impact in the education sector.
