Kanye West, renowned musician and trendsetter, dazzled audiences with his short yet lucrative five-show run of listening parties for his latest album “Vultures 1” alongside collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, amassing more than $12 million in ticket sales.

The highly anticipated U.S. listening events held on Feb. 8 in Chicago and Feb. 9 in New York saw an impressive $2.4 million each in ticket sales, setting the tone for equally successful European shows on Feb. 22 in Milan, Feb. 24 in Bologan, Italy, and Feb. 25 in Paris, where ticket prices ranged from $140 to $200.

Despite initial plans for an unconventional sand pile stage center, safety concerns led to a more conventional setup with a center stage and ramps, providing a fitting platform for West, Ty Dolla $ign, and other guests.

The success of these events comes amid challenges, including recent controversies causing a $1.6-billion dip in West’s fortune and delays in the album’s release. Nonetheless, “Vultures 1” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, marking West’s return to the top spot since his collaboration with Jay-Z on ‘Watch the Throne’ in 2011.
