Hartbeat Productions, the global multi-platform media company founded by acclaimed African-American comedian and entrepreneur Kevin Hart, has announced the appointment of Jay Levine as its new CEO.

Levine, a former executive at Warner Bros., is set to lead Hartbeat, overseeing the company’s growth strategies across development, production, marketing, distribution, and other intellectual property (IP) and experiential initiatives.

Levine’s appointment follows the departure of former CEO Thai Randolph in November, concluding her nearly decade-long tenure. Levine, having confirmed his role as CEO, is poised to guide Hartbeat Productions during a significant growth phase.

In the past year, the company experienced a surge in activity, releasing 23 projects spanning TV, film, digital, and audio, doubling its workforce, and inaugurating a new headquarters in Los Angeles.

His strategic vision aligns with the company’s commitment to furthering its impact in the entertainment industry, reaching global audiences through cultural currency, sales, subscriptions, and strategic partnerships.

Commenting on the significant addition to the leadership team, Kevin Hart stated, “Jay’s extensive background, leadership, and relationships will enhance our success and bring value to our partners and consumers across all boards.” Emphasizing collaboration with the existing leadership team, Hart believes that Levine will set a new standard and further drive growth for Hartbeat.

In addition to his role in the media landscape, Kevin Hart is a versatile entrepreneur with ventures beyond Hartbeat Productions. He owns Hart House, offering 100 percent plant-based burgers, sandwiches, and fries. Hart is also involved in Gran Coramino, a premium tequila brand, and Hartbeat Ventures, among other successful endeavors.

Levine’s appointment as CEO marks a pivotal moment for Hartbeat Productions, aligning with the company’s ambitious growth trajectory. With Kevin Hart’s continued influence and diverse business portfolio, Hartbeat remains a formidable force in the entertainment industry, poised for further success under Levine’s leadership.
