America’s second-richest Black individual, David Steward, is once again making headlines as his wealth surged by $280 million over the past 15 days, recovering from a recent dip in his net worth.

The billionaire’s impressive rebound, bolstered by his stake in St. Louis-based World Wide Technology (WWT), solidifies his position among the world’s wealthiest individuals, according to data tracked by Billionaires.Africa.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which tracks the fortunes of the world’s 500 wealthiest individuals, Steward, recognized as one of the world’s richest Black individuals, has seen his net worth rise from $8.2 billion on Oct. 4 to $8.48 billion.

Steward’s latest financial achievement comes after a brief period of decline, where his net worth plummeted by $380 million between Sept. 11 and Oct. 4, dropping from $8.58 billion to $8.2 billion. This dip, however, followed an extraordinary rise in Steward’s wealth earlier in the year.

The recent upswing in Steward’s net worth represents a notable financial recovery and extends his year-to-date wealth gains to $3.47 billion. This remarkable increase can largely be attributed to the valuation of his 59-percent stake in WWT, a renowned St. Louis-based company specializing in information services and hardware solutions.

WWT is known for its expertise in cloud computing, security services, and digital consulting, making it a key player in the tech industry. At the time of this report, Steward’s 59-percent stake in the company is presently valued at $8.47 billion, accounting for the majority of his $8.48-billion fortune.

In addition to his significant holdings in WWT, Steward maintains a diversified portfolio with a $14-million stake in Centene Corporation, a prominent healthcare services provider operating across the United States. These diversified investments underscore his financial acumen and strategic vision.
