Nicky Oppenheimer, South Africa’s second-richest man, has added another $120 million to his net worth in just 19 days.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Oppenheimer’s fortune has surged to $8.95 billion from $8.83 billion, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s wealthiest individuals.

This substantial gain follows a $775-million surge in his fortune between Jan. 1 and May 22, demonstrating Oppenheimer’s continued success in the business world.

This latest boost solidifies his position as Africa’s third-richest billionaire, as he still trails behind Rupert and Aliko Dangote.

The recent increase in Nicky Oppenheimer’s net worth can be attributed to the performance of his private equity investments.

Through his ventures, Stockdale Street in London and Tana Africa Capital in Johannesburg, he has capitalized on lucrative opportunities and seen substantial returns.

These successful investments have been the driving force behind his continued wealth accumulation.

In addition to his private equity endeavors, Oppenheimer maintains investments in 4Di Capital, a South African-focused venture capital firm.

This diversified portfolio showcases his strategic approach to wealth management and highlights his involvement in various sectors.

Beyond his business interests, Oppenheimer is renowned for his commitment to wilderness conservation.

He is the owner of Tswalu Kalahari, South Africa’s largest private game reserve, which he runs alongside his son Jonathan.

The reserve serves as a sanctuary for wildlife and contributes to preserving the country’s natural heritage.

Oppenheimer also owns the Shangani Ranch, a sprawling 65,000-hectare property renowned for its wildlife sanctuary status.

With 400 employees and a robust cattle operation, the ranch has been exporting beef to the United Kingdom since 1937.

The Shangani Ranch also serves as a vital corridor for migrating animals, fostering ecological balance and demonstrating Oppenheimer’s dedication to wildlife preservation.
