by Feyisayo Ajayi

Cairo-based AI-Assisted teleradiology platform, Rology, led by Egyptian entrepreneur Amr Abodraiaa, has made a significant move by acquiring Arkan United, a healthcare services provider based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The development comes after Rology successfully closed a pre-Series A funding round in April, securing investments from prominent entities such as Egypt Ventures, Sequence Ventures, Waseel, Tawaref, and Viktoria Ventures. The funding was specifically aimed at empowering Rology’s geographical expansion in the Middle East and North Africa.

The acquisition marks Rology’s entry into the Saudi healthcare market – the largest in the Middle East and North Africa.

What Amr Abodraiaa is saying about the acquisition

Expressing his excitement about the acquisition of Arkan United, Abodraiaa, Rology’s CEO and co-founder, stated: “We’re excited to announce our acquisition of Arkan for medical services in Saudi Arabia. This acquisition allows us to accelerate our mission of bringing the latest innovations in teleradiology to healthcare providers and patients in the kingdom and beyond.”

By combining Rology’s cutting-edge technology and network with Arkan United’s established expertise, the company aims to revolutionize the field of teleradiology and enhance patient care in unprecedented ways.

This strategic move positions Rology as a key player in addressing the global shortage of radiologists and reducing the high latency in medical reports.

Rology joins NVIDIA Inception Program to propel technological capabilities

Founded in October 2017 by Abodraiaa, Moaaz Hossam, Mahmoud Eldefrawy, and Bassam Khallaf, Rology has developed a cloud-based platform that intelligently matches patients with remote radiologists, effectively addressing the global shortage of radiologists.

To further enhance its technological capabilities, Rology has joined the NVIDIA Inception Program, a global initiative that supports the growth of exceptional startups.

By leveraging cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies, Rology aims to revolutionize the field of radiology and continue its mission of improving patient care.
