Simba Telecom, the telecommunication enterprise led by Ugandan businessman Patrick Bitature, has joined forces with Chinese smartphone manufacturer MiOne to introduce a range of new tech products to the Ugandan market.

The strategic collaboration with the Chinese smartphone maker aims to provide consumers with affordable smartwatch phones, tablets, and accessories.

The official launch of the product line took place at Simba Telecom headquarters on Kampala Road, where the chairman of Simba Group, Bitature, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and highlighted the significance of manufacturing affordable products locally.

“This is just the beginning of manufacturers coming to Uganda and producing phone accessories locally,” Bitature said. He emphasized the importance of training and employing young Ugandans, highlighting their ability to adapt quickly and learn.

Andy Chow, general manager of MiOne, explained that the diverse range of MiOne phones and Black Arch TV products are designed to offer high-quality gadgets at affordable prices. This partnership further enhances the variety of products available at Simba Telecom’s retail stores.

The latest move follows Simba Telecom’s strategic alliance with d.light, a renowned affordable, and reliable solar product manufacturer.

The alliance focuses on capitalizing on the burgeoning solar energy sector in East Africa.

Through its partnership with d.light, Simba Telecom aims to expand its reach and offerings in the region’s rapidly growing solar energy market.

As the largest distributor of airtime in East Africa, Simba Telecom plans to include d.light’s solar-powered solutions in its product portfolio.

This will encompass solar home systems, lanterns, and portable chargers, enabling the distribution of solar products across Uganda.

The telecom company’s latest collaboration with MiOne signifies an important step towards expanding technology accessibility in Uganda.

With affordable smartwatch phones, tablets, and accessories now available, consumers can look forward to a broader range of options at competitive prices.
