Benedict Peters, a Nigerian oil magnate and billionaire who holds one of the top positions on the list of the country’s richest billionaires, is set to receive an honor at the African Heritage Concert and Awards.
The event, scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, on April 1 is organized by Heritage Times to foster and promote Africa’s rich culture of excellence, as well as to celebrate the distinguished accomplishments of prominent Africans all over the world.
The ceremony will feature Chairman of Aiteo Group Benedict Peters, who will receive the African Philanthropist Award for his outstanding contributions to sports and human capital development across Africa.
Other personalities to be recognized include the late John Magufuli, a former president of Tanzania, Jewel Howard-Taylor, the vice president of Liberia, Seretse Khama Ian Khama, a former president of Botswana, and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, a former president of Nigeria.

Peters is a highly accomplished Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, renowned for founding Aiteo Group, the largest indigenous oil producer in Nigeria.
In the past 30 years, he has achieved remarkable success in the oil and gas industry, spearheading the management of several outfits under the Aiteo Group, including Aiteo Eastern E&P Company Limited (AEEPC), one of Nigeria’s largest indigenous oil exploration firms.
With an annual production capacity of over 90,000 barrels, AEEPC has been instrumental in the growth of Nigeria’s petroleum industry. Under Peters’ visionary leadership, Aiteo Group has made significant contributions to the growth and development of Africa’s petroleum industry.

Joining Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, in the quest to transform Nigeria’s petroleum industry, his oil exploration company, AEEPC, is set to build two refineries, taking a monumental step in its effort to revolutionize Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
The refineries, which will each have a capacity of 250,000 barrels per day, will be built in Bayelsa and Rivers States. These refineries will produce a variety of petroleum products, including PMS (premium motor spirit), lubricants, petrochemicals, and more.
