Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH), a renowned healthcare services provider led by Egyptian businesswoman Hend El-Sherbini, has announced plans to open two to three new scan branches in Egypt under the Al-Borg Scan medical diagnostics and radiology brand.

“While we are thrilled with our progress thus far, our work has just begun, and over the coming year we are aiming to roll out two to three additional branches and further widen the venture’s service offering as we look to capture a larger share of the fast-growing Egyptian radiology market”, El-Sherbini, IDH’s CEO, said, while announcing the intention to open the new scan branches.

She went on to state that the group had recently received American College of Radiology accreditation for both the venture’s nuclear medicine (NucMed) and ultrasound units, making Al-Borg Scan the first radiology center in Africa and one of the few radiology facilities in the Middle East to hold this prestigious certification.

Al-Borg Scan, Egypt’s first and largest diagnostic center specializing in medical diagnostics and radiology, has opened its sixth Al-Borg Scan site in Cairo as part of a bigger ramp-up strategy to produce value from the country’s undeveloped radiology industry.

IDH’s decision to open two to three additional scan branches in Egypt under its medical diagnostics and radiology business will increase the number of scan centers under Al-Borg Scan to nine by the end of 2023.

El-Sherbini explained that the ramp-up strategy for Al-Borg Scan, which will provide high-quality radiology services to an increasing number of patients, will not only broaden the venture’s service offering but will also create additional value for IDH, which offers more than 1,400 international-standard diagnostics tests through a branch network of 483 labs spread across four countries.

Under the leadership of El-Sherbini, who presently controls a significant 26.1-percent stake in the group, IDH has grown into a leading consumer healthcare group in the Middle East and Africa, with operations in Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, and Nigeria.

IDH has invested about EGP400 million ($20.3 million) in Al-Borg Scan since its inception in 2018, and the company has seen tremendous success since then.

Revenue from the group’s radiology business climbed by 78 percent year-on-year to EGP35 million ($1.8 million) in the first half of 2022, achieving extraordinary achievement.
