Coris Bank International, which is owned by Burkinabe mogul Idrissa Nassa, has launched the headquarters of its Ivory Coast operations in Abidjan, the nation’s largest city.

The new headquarters of Coris Bank International Cote d’Ivoire were inaugurated at a ceremony on May 28 by Adama Coulibaly, Ivorian economy minister, who represented Tiemoko Meyliet Kone, vice president of Cote d’Ivoire.

The property is located at Boulevard Valery Giscard d’Estaing in Abidjan’s swanky Treichville neighborhood. Construction on the property began in March 2019, but it was halted temporarily with the arrival of COVID-19. The new headquarters sits on a total area of 1,300 cubic meters, and reportedly cost 8 billion FCFA ($13 million) to build.

Coris Bank International has operated in Ivory Coast for nearly 10 years. It recorded a net profit of 15.15 billion FCFA ($24.7 million) in 2020, making it one of the most profitable banks in Ivory Coast.

Coris Bank International is a subsidiary of Coris Holding, one of the largest financial services groups in Francophone Africa.

Coris’ subsidiaries are engaged in commercial banking, insurance and wealth management and operate in nine African countries.

The group is controlled by its founder, Nassa, who is one of the richest men in Burkina Faso.
