Quinton van Rooyen, Namibian businessman and CEO of Trustco Group Holdings (Trustco), has experienced a substantial increase in the market value of his stake in the Windhoek-based investment holding company over the past 36 days.

According to data compiled by Billionaires.Africa, van Rooyen’s stake in Trustco has surged by an impressive R120.48 million ($6.25 million) since Aug. 30, as local bourse investors have steadily increased their interests in the investment holding firm.

In contrast, just a month earlier, van Rooyen had recorded a loss of $50 million when the market value of his stake in Trustco Group Holdings declined from R1.41 billion ($75.93 million) on Aug. 2 to R451.80 million ($24.40 million) on Aug. 30.

Trustco, a diversified investment holding firm majority owned and led by Quinton van Rooyen, prides itself on its investments in premium assets across the financial services and resource sectors. These investments have historically generated sustainable, long-term growth for stakeholders.

Van Rooyen, who owns an impressive 63.94-percent stake in the company, which amounts to a total of 1,004,000,060 ordinary shares, ranks as one of Namibia’s richest men.

The recent performance of Trustco’s shares has been notably favorable, with a 26.67-percent increase from R0.45 ($0.0233) on Aug. 30 to R0.57 ($0.0296) at the time of this report. This has resulted in substantial financial gains for shareholders, including the Namibian businessman himself.

The impact of the recent surge in the company’s share price caused the market value of van Rooyen’s stake to increase by R120.48 million ($6.25 million) over the past 36 days from R451.80 million ($23.433 million) on August 30 to R572.28 million ($29.68 million).

Van Rooyen’s remarkable turnaround in Trustco’s stake value underscores the resilience and potential for growth within the Namibian investment landscape. It also highlights the attractiveness of Trustco Group as a top player in the country’s financial and resource sectors.
