South African insurance tycoon and Discovery co-founder Adrian Gore earned R31.67 million ($1.69 million) in total compensation for 2024, reflecting a 13.48 percent increase from the previous year’s R27.91 million ($1.49 million).

This increase highlights Gore’s pivotal role in steering Discovery through a challenging operating environment while achieving notable financial and operational milestones. His leadership continues to drive the company’s growth and expansion efforts, reinforcing its position as a leader in the insurance sector.

Gore’s 2024 compensation package includes a base salary of R8.43 million ($448,843) and a performance-based short-term incentive of R10.62 million ($565,687), emphasizing the company’s strong achievements over the fiscal year.

Additionally, he received a long-term incentive of R10.86 million ($578,294) in recognition of his dedication to the group and his extensive expertise, which has been instrumental in sustaining Discovery’s success.

Adrian Gore, who co-founded Discovery in 1992 with Barry Swartzberg, has transformed the company from a medical insurer into a global powerhouse in insurance, asset management, and investment services.
