NCBA opens new branch in Kenya to enhance banking services

NCBA Group, a leading financial services conglomerate partly owned by some of Kenya’s wealthiest families, has launched a new branch in Ukunda, the largest town in Kwale County.

This expansion is part of NCBA's ambitious plan to deepen its national presence, leveraging local expertise to tap into emerging economic sectors, enhance customer accessibility, and strengthen its market footprint and financial performance.

The new office will cater to the financial needs of an estimated population of 866,820, providing comprehensive services such as digital banking, personal and business loans, mortgages, asset financing, and advisory services. 

NCBA expands services for financial inclusion

With this move, NCBA aims to empower entrepreneurs, small businesses, and individuals by granting access to supply chain financing, investment opportunities, and its mobile and online banking platforms for seamless financial management.

“This opening is a significant step in deepening our relationship with the community while also reflecting our focus on promoting economic growth and financial inclusion,” said Tirus Mwithiga, NCBA group director for retail banking. “We are excited to strengthen our local presence and offer solutions that address customers' banking needs.”

NCBA Group strengthens East Africa presence

NCBA Group, headquartered in Nairobi, is a non-operating holding company with subsidiaries in Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Côte d'Ivoire. Formed in 2019 from the merger of NIC Bank Group and Commercial Bank of Africa Group, it is a key player in East Africa’s financial sector.

Partially owned by prominent Kenyan families such as the Kenyattas, Meralis, and Ndegwas, NCBA remains steadfast in strengthening its operations within Kenya while expanding its footprint across the region.

The opening of a new branch coincides with Customer Service Week, highlighting the bank's dedication to excellent service and its strategy of providing seamless banking experiences through both physical locations and digital platforms.
