Palantir Technologies, the AI and big data analytics firm co-founded by African-American tech billionaire Alex Karp, has strengthened its collaboration with Microsoft Corporation.

The enhanced partnership aims to integrate Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service into Palantir’s AI Platform (AIP), delivering advanced and secure AI-driven analytics and cloud services tailored for U.S. Defense and Intelligence operations.

New AI tools for classified use

The expanded alliance marks a significant milestone as Palantir’s suite—Foundry, Gotham, Apollo, and AIP—will be deployed in Microsoft’s government cloud environments, including Azure Government Secret and Top Secret clouds. This integration aims to operationalize Microsoft’s Large Language Models, enabling sophisticated analytics and decision-making capabilities within highly classified networks.

Shyam Sankar, Palantir’s Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the transformative impact of this collaboration. “Palantir AIP has pioneered the approach to operationalizing AI value—beyond chat—across the enterprise. It’s our mission to deliver this software advantage, and we’re thrilled to be the first industry partner to deploy Microsoft AOAI Service in classified environments,” Sankar stated.
