Palantir Technologies, an artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics firm co-founded and led by African-American tech billionaire Alex Karp, has secured a two-year, $19-million contract from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).

The contract, awarded by the newly established U.S. agency focused on accelerating breakthroughs in biomedical research, will see Palantir leverage its expertise in data management and AI to enhance ARPA-H’s mission of improving health outcomes.

Under the agreement, Palantir will deploy its Foundry software and Foundry Platform AI to create a robust data infrastructure for ARPA-H. This infrastructure will enable the agency to efficiently collect, analyze, and interpret data from diverse sources, supporting a data-driven approach to research and program design.

Traditionally, medical research has faced challenges with fragmented data sets and limited analytical capabilities. Palantir’s Foundry platform aims to address these issues by offering a secure and centralized platform for data integration and analysis.
