The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming public service delivery in Africa, has announced a new collaborative initiative with the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS).

This partnership aims to equip directors in the Federal Civil Service with essential leadership, project management, and communication skills through a targeted training program.

Commitment to public sector leadership

The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation will implement the training in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Nigerian Civil Service. This initiative underscores the NGO’s commitment to strengthening public sector leadership and efficiency.

During a courtesy visit to OPTS leadership, Bukky Akinsemoyin, the foundation’s director of funding and partnerships, highlighted the importance of this collaboration.

“We are delighted by the partnership and support from OPTS on this critical initiative. Equipping directors in the civil service with the necessary skills will greatly enhance their ability to deliver essential services and drive national development. This initiative exemplifies the positive impact that can be achieved when the public and private sectors come together,” she said.

Enhancing the capacity of civil service directors

OPTS is proud to partner with the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation on this impactful program,” Gwueke Ajaifia, OPTS executive director, said.

OPTS, an industry group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represents about 30 member oil and gas companies registered in Nigeria with oil prospecting or mining licenses. This collaboration marks a major step in fostering a more efficient and effective public service in Nigeria.

This partnership between the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation and OPTS aims to improve the public sector through collaboration and training programs. By equipping civil service directors with essential skills, they are investing in Nigeria’s future. This initiative shows the benefits of working together and is expected to lead to better service delivery and national development.

The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, founded by Aigboje and his wife Ofovwe, donated N2.3 billion ($5 million) in 2023 to enhance healthcare in Africa. The donation supports the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria’s to adopt a healthcare facility program and aims to establish world-class primary healthcare centers in each of Nigeria’s 774 local governments.
