According to market data tracked by Billionaire.Africa, the market value of Bekker’s stake in Naspers has surged by R699.48 million ($36.75 million) over the past eight days to R6.1 billion ($320.63 million), fueled by the recent rally in the conglomerate’s shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
This recent boost adds to Bekker’s previous gains. Between March 5 and 31, his stake in Naspers grew by $36.7 million, climbing from R4.97 billion ($263.55 million) to R5.66 billion ($300.31 million).
Bekker’s Naspers soars to $34 billion market cap
Naspers, a South African Internet and media conglomerate, has seen its share price surge 12.94 percent over the past eight days. This rally has propelled the company’s market capitalization above $34 billion, benefiting shareholders like Koos Bekker.
The diversified Naspers portfolio spans online retail, publishing, and venture capital, with a presence across five continents serving more than 2 billion customers. Its shares on the JSE have climbed from R3,201.46 ($168.12) on April 17 to R3,615.87 ($189.97) by April 25.

Fueled by a recent surge in Naspers’ share price, the market value of Koos Bekker’s stake has grown by a significant R699.48 million ($36.75 million) over the past eight days, rising from R5.40 billion ($283.88 million) on April 17 to R6.10 billion ($320.63 million).
