South African-born tycoon Barry Stuhler rakes in $3.79 million from Lighthouse stake

South African-born real estate tycoon Barry Stuhler has seen his wealth grow by $3.79 million thanks to his investment in Lighthouse Properties. The Malta-based property company has experienced a recent surge in its shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

According to the Billionaires.Africa, the market value of Stuhler’s stake in Lighthouse Properties has increased by R70.81 million ($3.79 million) due to renewed investors buying interest as they mop up shares in the group.

Stuhler’s real estate empire: Lighthouse Properties shines on global stage

Malta-based property firm Lighthouse Properties, listed on the JSE, possesses a diverse portfolio of retail assets spanning France, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Notably, Stuhler holds a significant 9.72-percent ownership stake in Lighthouse Properties, equivalent to 172,699,222 ordinary shares, valued at $72.12 million. This substantial holding establishes him as one of the wealthiest investors on the JSE.

Bringing over three decades of real estate expertise, Stuhler, the co-founder of Resilient Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), also extends his influence with stakes in Pangbourne Properties, a high-performing property investment company established in 2007.

Barry Stuhler’s stake in Lighthouse Properties surge $3.79 million amid market rally

Lighthouse Properties’ stock has climbed 5.54 percent recently, going from R7.40 ($0.396) on Feb. 20 to R7.8 ($0.417) today. This increase has translated into substantial gains for shareholders, including Stuhler.

Stuhler’s stake in Lighthouse Properties has seen a market value boost of R70.81 million ($3.79 million), going from R1.28 billion ($68.33 million) on Feb. 20 to R1.35 billion ($72.12 million) now.

This $3.79-million gain further solidifies Stuhler’s position as one of the prominent investors on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and one of the wealthiest businessmen in the country.
