Nigerian multiaward-winning artist David Adeleke (Davido) continues his philanthropic efforts through the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF). The multimillionaire musician has donated N300 million ($200,000) to orphanages in Nigeria, showcasing his ongoing dedication to making a positive impact in Africa’s largest economy.

The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats singer and celebrated artist shared this generous pledge in a recent tweet on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate in Nigeria.

“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira ($200,000) to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation … details of disbursement tomorrow…,” Davido stated in his tweet on X.

This latest donation builds upon previous philanthropic endeavors, including a N250-million ($166 million) donation to 292 orphanages in November 2021 to commemorate his 29th birthday and a N237-million ($158 million) donation to more than 400 orphanages in July 2023.

The impact of these donations served as a significant inspiration for the establishment of the DAF, reflecting the profound difference made in the lives of beneficiaries.

With this recent donation, Davido’s total contributions to orphanages in Nigeria since November 2021 now stand at nearly N787 million ($0.56 million), solidifying his position among Nigeria’s most charitable individuals.
