Tyler— who became Executive Vice President and CFO of Northern Trust in January 2020 — received a compensation package that includes a base salary of $0.588 million and a performance-based short-term incentive of $1.08 million — a direct reflection of his joint role in leading the financial service bank toward impressive financial milestones in 2022.
The highly accomplished corporate executive also received a long-term incentive award of $2.52 million — highlighting his unwavering dedication and expertise as a seasoned business executive.

Northern Trust, a Chicago-based financial services company, reported a 2022 net income of $1.34 billion and revenue of $6.76 billion, reflecting a 4.59-percent year-on-year increase. Ranked 477th on the Fortune 1000, the firm caters to corporations, institutional investors, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Tyler, who joined Northern Trust in 2011, is credited for optimizing the company’s financial standing. With diverse experience in finance, executive, operational, and strategic roles, he held positions at Ariel Investments and American National Bank before Northern Trust.
Over his distinguished career, he has assumed pivotal leadership positions, notably serving as chief financial officer of wealth management from 2018 to 2019, overseeing the Institutional Group of Asset Management as global head from 2014 to 2018, and strategically guiding the organization as global head of strategy from 2011 to 2014.

Under his leadership, the company’s profit surged by 27.8 percent from $1.21 billion in 2021 to $1.55 billion in 2022. However, it registered a 15.72-percent decline in total assets — from $183.9 billion in 2021 to $155 billion in 2022.
Beyond his executive and leadership roles at Northern Trust, Tyler owns a minority 0.02-percent stake in the financial services company — equivalent to 41,477 ordinary shares.
