Ursula Burns, a leading American businesswoman who made history as the first Black woman to lead a Fortune 500 company, has witnessed the market value of her stake in Uber Technologies soar by over a million dollars in just twelve days.
This significant increase in her wealth follows a recent rally in Uber shares, solidifying her position as one of the world’s leading Black executives. According to data tracked by Billionaires.Africa, the market value of her stake in Uber Technologies has now increased by $1.17 million over the past twelve days.
Burns, who achieved a historic milestone in 2009 when she became the CEO of Xerox, has been an influential figure on the boards of several prominent companies, including Endeavor Group Holdings Inc., ExxonMobil Corporation, Plum Acquisition Corp I, and Teneo Holdings LLC. Her strategic investments have played a pivotal role in bolstering her financial standing.
As of the time of this report, Burns holds a 0.0077-percent stake in Uber Technologies, which amounts to 155,540 shares. This stake is the cornerstone of her extensive equity portfolio, valued at over $12 million.
In recent days, the market value of her Uber stake has surged by an impressive $1.17 million. The value soared from $6.32 million on Oct. 26 to $7.49 million, reflecting the remarkable growth of her investment.
This surge is attributed to a recent rally in Uber shares, with the company’s stock price on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) rising by 18.5 percent, from $40.62 on Oct. 26 to $48.14, bringing the company’s market capitalization closer to the $100-billion mark.
Apart from her involvement with Uber as a director and investor, Ursula Burns holds a minority 0.0009-percent stake in ExxonMobil Corporation, a renowned American multinational oil and gas corporation.
Her equity holdings also include shares in Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc., and IHS Holding, a leading telecom infrastructure firm led by American-Nigerian telecom tycoon Sam Darwish.
