Black executive David Rawlinson II earns $4.96-million salary from Qurate Retail
David Rawlinson II, the president and CEO of Qurate Retail Group, received a compensation package of $4.96 million from the retail group in 2022 for his contributions to the financial success of the American media conglomerate.
While Rawlinson’s 2022 compensation package represents a substantial drop of 69.43 percent compared to the previous year’s total reward of $16.22 million, it comes as Qurate faces intensified competition from retailers increasingly embracing live-streaming shopping and social media marketing.
His compensation package in 2022 includes a base salary of $1.25 million, supplemented by a performance-based short-term incentive of $781,250, attributed to the company’s financial year performance and Rawlinson II’s exemplary leadership of Qurate Retail Group.
In recognition of his unwavering dedication, Rawlinson also received a long-term incentive award amounting to $2.93 million from the leading retail Group.

Rawlinson was president and CEO-elect of Qurate Retail, Inc., from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2021, before becoming CEO of Qurate in October 2021. He joined Qurate Retail from NielsenIQ, where he was CEO and oversaw the company’s transition to new ownership.
Since assuming the mantle of CEO, Rawlinson has brought a track record of extensive global experience in digital commerce, consumer trends, customer data, and digital business-to-business operations, alongside a background in information solutions, making him a valuable leader in the industry.
Under Rawlinson’s leadership, Qurate Retail Group which reaches more than 200 million homes globally through 14 television channels, streaming experiences, websites, mobile apps, social pages, print catalogs, and in-store destinations, achieved a remarkable revenue of $12.1 billion in 2022.
