Nigerian billionaire Tony Elumelu’s Heirs Oil & Gas rebrands

Heirs Holdings Oil & Gas Limited, one of Africa’s largest owner-operated integrated energy companies – which billionaire Tony Elumelu owns – announced a significant rebranding initiative Thursday, changing its name to Heirs Energies Limited and introducing a new logo and color scheme that underscores its commitment to sustainably addressing the continent’s specific energy challenges.

The company’s rebranding comes amid the global push to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Heirs Energies plans to use its expertise, resources, and innovative practices to be at the forefront of the energy sector transformation, ensuring its operations have a lasting, positive effect on the environment.

Heirs Energies will maintain its exploration and production activities, capitalizing on advanced technologies to reduce carbon emissions. This includes eliminating gas flaring and investing in projects that maximize gas utilization, tapping into extensive energy resources to enhance access and fuel development across Africa.

In a press statement, Elumelu, the chairman of Heirs Energies, said the updated brand identity reflects the company’s enthusiasm for innovation, expansion, and environmental sustainability in Africa.

“This new brand identity reiterates our passion for innovation, growth, and sustainability in Africa. Heirs Energies signifies our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility, value creation in Africa, and integration across our value chains while working together with our community towards a shared destiny. We are excited to embark on this transformative journey that will shape the future of the energy sector in Africa,” Elumelu said.

Heirs Energies is a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, an investment company that manages Elumelu’s and his family’s wealth. The company has other investments in financial services, healthcare, and real estate.
