Firm led by America’s richest Black billionaire acquires stake in London-based tech firm

Vista Equity Partners, the global technology investment firm led by America’s richest Black billionaire Robert F. Smith, has announced a strategic growth investment in Gatekeeper, a London-based vendor and contract lifecycle management (VCLM) platform.

This marks a milestone for Gatekeeper, as it is the company’s first external capital infusion since its inception. The investment was made through Vista Equity Partners’ Endeavor Fund, which specializes in providing growth investments and strategic support to high-growth enterprise software companies with at least $10 million in revenue.

The financial boost is poised to accelerate innovation within the Gatekeeper platform and enhance its go-to-market capabilities, allowing the company to expand its global presence and tap into the rising demand for unified vendor management, contract management, and third-party risk management solutions.

Gatekeeper CEO and Founder Patrick O’Connor expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Our vision is rooted in the convergence of vendor, contract, and third-party risk management. With Vista, we have a partner that shares our vision and provides the resources and expertise to define the future of VCLM.”

René Yang Stewart, co-head of Vista’s Endeavor Fund and senior managing director, commented on the latest investment, saying, “Gatekeeper is a unique, founder-led business that’s established a leadership position in a large and growing addressable market.”

“This is a testament to the company’s vision and ability to execute. We look forward to partnering with Patrick and the entire Gatekeeper team as they accelerate investments to support increased customer demand and gain further market traction,” he added.
