South African tycoon Jens Montanana, the CEO and founder of Datatec, a South African-based multinational technology group, received a total compensation package of $11.94 million from the tech group in 2023.
Under the leadership of Montanana, the tech group recorded a comprehensive income of $70.62 million at the end of its 2023 fiscal year. His 2023 compensation package comprises a base salary of $1.2 million and a performance-based short-term incentive of $1.61 million thanks to the group’s performance during the fiscal year.
He also received a long-term incentive award of $8.86 million from the multinational technology group to acknowledge his unwavering dedication to the group and his wealth of expertise as a seasoned business leader and a top professional.
Montanana, renowned for his leadership and contributions to the tech industry, founded Datatec in 1986. His leadership skills and business acumen have cemented his position as one of the wealthiest investors on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, largely attributable to his substantial stake in the company.
Under his astute leadership, Datatec has expanded its footprint across more than 50 countries, offering diverse ICT solutions, notably in Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
He has also led Datatec to impressive financial milestones, with the group’s comprehensive income soaring to $70.62 million at the end of its 2023 fiscal year.
Besides his executive and governance roles, Montanana presently owns a 14.06-percent ownership stake in Datatec, equivalent to 31,832,429 ordinary shares in the South African tech company, a stake presently valued at nearly $56 million.
