Salwa Akhannouch, Morocco’s leading business figure and wife of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, is venturing into the hospitality, business management, and medical equipment sectors.

According to Maghreb Intelligence, Akhannouch, who is the president and founder of the Aksal Group, established a new firm, AKS Mode, on June 14. It was officially registered with the Casablanca Trade Register on July 31, 2023.

With Akhannouch as its sole shareholder and a share capital of just around $10,000, AKS Mode is poised to specialize in the hotel and catering domain, including fast food. Furthermore, it will manage the acquisition and operation of businesses in this sector.

Apart from hospitality, the company plans to engage in trading apparel for both men and women, beauty and personal care products, and is permitted to deal in medical equipment.

Akhannouch, one of the most influential women in The Maghreb, is recognized as one of Africa’s leading retail billionaires by Billionaires.Africa as of last August.

The business magnate founded the Aksal Group in 2004.

Under her guidance, the entity secured exclusive franchise rights for 45 globally acclaimed brands in Morocco, elevating the luxury quotient for the domestic market.

Adding to her list of achievements, in 2011, Akhannouch unveiled the Morocco Mall. This expansive 10-hectare shopping and entertainment hub enhanced Morocco’s retail landscape and significantly augmented tourism income.
