Zimbabwe’s richest man Strive Masiyiwa has yet again experienced a significant increase in his net worth in just 15 days, following a $600-million year-to-date surge in his fortunes from $1.2 billion at the start of the year to $1.8 billion as of Sept. 4.

According to Forbes, the Zimbabwean billionaire, who ranks as the second-richest Black individual in Southern Africa behind mining mogul Patrice Motsepe, has experienced a $100-million increase in net worth this month.

Data tracked by Billionaires.Africa revealed that Masiyiwa’s net worth has risen by $100 million in the past 15 days, from $1.8 billion on Sept. 4 to $1.9 billion at the time of writing this report.

The recent bump in his fortune, which translates to an average gain of $6.7 million per day, has solidified his position as Zimbabwe’s richest man and one of the richest men on the African continent, according to Forbes.

In just 15 days, Masiyiwa’s net worth reached an impressive $1.9 billion, propelling his year-to-date wealth gains to $700 million.

The $100-million bump, which extends his year-to-date wealth gains to $700 million from $600 million 15 days ago, can be attributed to the strong performance of his publicly traded businesses on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, specifically Econet Zimbabwe and EcoCash Holdings.

Masiyiwa maintains a controlling 52.85-percent stake in Econet Zimbabwe, the nation’s leading telecommunications service provider, and an additional 30-percent stake in EcoCash Holdings, an innovative technology firm specializing in digital and financial solutions, with a focus on enhancing financial inclusion and empowering communities.

Through Econet Global, a diversified telecom group with expansive operations and investments across Africa, Europe, South America, and the East Asia-Pacific Rim, Masiyiwa also possesses a $145-million equity position in Liquid Intelligent.

As the landscape of African billionaires fluctuates, Masiyiwa’s remarkable wealth surge underscores his resilience and exceptional business acumen in navigating the region’s economic challenges. His impressive growth further cements his reputation as a significant figure in both the African and global business arenas.

With a diverse and expanding portfolio, Masiyiwa continues to demonstrate his ability to adapt to changing market dynamics, making him a top figure on the African continent
