7 companies owned by Ugandan multimillionaire Ham Kiggundu

Thirty-nine-year-old Ham Kiggundu is one of East Africa’s most revered young entrepreneurs and real estate moguls.

The Makerere University-trained Lawyer started his career in business by importing clothes and commodities from China, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Dubai and distributing them wholesale in Uganda and neighboring countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Congo, and Sudan. As he accumulated more capital, he ventured into real estate, mainly buying and selling land and properties.

Today, Kiggundu presides over the Ham Group, a conglomerate with diverse interests spanning real estate, manufacturing, hospitality, logistics, and education.

Ham Enterprises U Ltd

Ham Enterprises is the flagship company of Ham Group and operates as a construction company and property developer. Through Ham Enterprises U Limited, he owns a property portfolio in the heart of Uganda’s capital, Kampala, that includes landmark shopping centers, office buildings, and hotels. One of the company’s most popular developments is Ham Palm Villas – a private gated community that will accommodate 500 luxury homes in a swanky location in the city. He is also constructing a replica of the White House in Kampala, which will serve as the headquarters for some of his businesses upon completion. The company is also reconstructing the Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium.

Ham Cinemax

The first and still the only 5D Cinema in Uganda, 3D Cinema launched in 2013, strategically located in Ham Shopping Mall, Makerere, boasts multiple screens & the latest in HD Surround Sound System.

Ham International Express Logistics (HIEL)

HIEL, which is based in Euless, Texas, is a logistics company. The company specializes in computerized management, inland freight, custom clearance, and door-to-door services.

Ham Agro Processing Industries

The company owns a modern integrated agro-processing industrial park in Akright Estate-Bwebbajja along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway. The plant processes and adds value to various crops ranging from fruits, vegetables, cereals, and other plants for local consumption and export.

Hana International School Uganda

Hana International School Uganda is an integrated school located in Nsangi, Uganda, 500 meters off Masaka Road. The School is just a 30-minute drive away from Kampala. Hana offers both the local UNEB curriculum and the International Cambridge Curriculum.
