The announcement was made via Davido’s official Twitter account, emphasizing his commitment to ongoing charitable works in the country.
Under the guidance of the DAF Disbursement Committee Chair, Titil Adebayo, the foundation efficiently distributed the funds to 424 orphanages, benefiting a total of 13,818 children. The landmark donation marks a significant step for the foundation, founded in 2022 to positively impact the lives of the less fortunate in Nigeria.
Davido, celebrated as one of Africa’s biggest artists, expressed his pride and happiness in being able to help those in need. Establishing the DAF has enabled him to structure and streamline his charitable efforts, extending his reach to more beneficiaries.
The generous donation of $304,000 was the result of the DAF’s outreach to prominent and compassionate Nigerians, seeking their support in raising funds for the underprivileged across the country. The response was overwhelming, with individuals and corporations from various sectors and regions contributing wholeheartedly to the cause.
The impact of the previous donations, particularly after Davido’s birthday in 2021, served as a significant motivating force for the foundation’s endeavors. Letters and messages from beneficiaries highlighted the profound impact that the donations had on their lives, inspiring Davido to establish the DAF and continue his mission to make a difference.
As the foundation remains committed to uplifting and supporting vulnerable communities across Nigeria, this recent donation to orphanages showcases Davido’s dedication to improving the lives of those less fortunate.
