Sean “Diddy” Combs, the African-American billionaire and chairman of Combs Global, has launched Empower Global (EG), an e-commerce platform aimed at empowering Black entrepreneurs and offering consumers the opportunity to discover and purchase products exclusively created and sold by Black-owned brands.
EG focuses on beauty, fashion, art, and lifestyle, providing a curated selection of products while creating a broader audience reach for Black businesses.
The platform’s initial launch features more than 70 brands, including Silver & Riley, Actively Black, Scotch Porter, Coco & Breezy, Kultured Misfits, and many more, with plans to introduce new Black businesses on a monthly basis.
With over 1,000 items already available, EG aims to showcase over 200 brands by the end of the year, contributing to the growth of the Black economy.
Combs expressed his mission to empower Black entrepreneurs by providing them with the necessary resources, tools, and support to build successful businesses. He believes that EG will uplift Black entrepreneurs, promote the circulation of dollars within the Black community, and encourage buying Black as a lifestyle.
The e-commerce platform has joined forces with UPS to offer special deals and shipping rates to support Black-owned businesses further. The Days of Deals initiative allows select sellers to offer discounts on choice products and free UPS shipping for any purchases made on the platform for a limited time.
EG represents a significant milestone in Combs’ mission to empower Black entrepreneurs. The platform was meticulously developed by Black-owned TechSparq, an e-commerce design and development company, with the support of ChatDesk, another Black-owned tech company.
Under the umbrella of Combs Global, the e-commerce platform embodies a commitment to excellence. It offers various best-in-class products from Black-owned businesses in various sectors.
Earlier this year, Combs announced the rebranding of his parent company, Combs Enterprises, to Combs Global. This rebranding signifies a global expansion of Combs’ ventures in music, entertainment, fashion, spirits, media/television, and now e-commerce.
Combs Global encompasses a wide range of entities, including Bad Boy Entertainment, Cîroc Vodka, DeLeon Tequila, AQUAhydrate, REVOLT MEDIA, Sean John, Capital Preparatory Charter Schools, The Sean Combs Foundation, Empower Global, Our Fair Share, and Love Records.
