Following the official approval received to expand his smart city initiative to Botswana, Mwale is now determined to replicate the success of MMTC, which has gained widespread acclaim for its effective approach to addressing complex medical conditions.
The newly announced medical city in Brazzaville, Congo, is expected to improve access to affordable healthcare and further develop the country’s medical tourism industry. Mwale envisions expanding the MMTC concept to 12 additional countries by 2050, as revealed by the visionary himself.
Mwale’s company, Mwale Medical and Technology City (MMTC), is a $2-billion community-owned sustainable metropolis that features a substantial medical and technology complex in Kakamega, Kenya.
As Mwale expands his projects throughout Africa, MMTC is anticipated to benefit from the resources made available through these endeavors.
Employing an integrated smart city development approach, MMTC has already expanded into 12 African countries. By 2050, the company aims to construct 18 smart cities and empower 800 million people across the continent.
Mwale initially accumulated his wealth by establishing SBA Technologies Inc., a New York-based company specializing in secure platforms for mobile commerce and mobile banking.
Mwale presently holds positions as chairman on the boards of over 20 companies spanning various industries, including technology, retail, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, construction, hospitality, human resources, energy, and engineering.
Since 2007, he has held the position of chairman at the American Institute for African Development in New York, further exemplifying his commitment to driving African development.
