Egyptian businessman Hassan Allam’s firm inks deal with Beko to build plant in Egypt
Hassan Allam Holding, a privately held engineering and construction firm led by Egyptian businessmen Hassan and Amr Allam, has formed a strategic alliance with Beko Egypt for Home Appliances, a subsidiary of Turkish conglomerate Arçelik.
The partnership aims to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Egypt.
Beko Egypt revealed that Hassan Allam Construction, a unit under Hassan Allam Holding, will undertake all aspects of the project, including civil, architectural, electrical, and mechanical work, covering 114,000 square meters with a construction area of 56,000 square meters.
The highly-anticipated project, set to be completed in just 10 months, is a testament to Beko Egypt’s steadfast commitment to advancing industry localization in the country. By strengthening its presence in the local market, Beko Egypt will be able to provide a diverse range of top-notch, cutting-edge home appliances to meet the evolving needs of consumers.
The project encompasses a comprehensive range of facilities, including production areas, administrative buildings, and other key structures, positioning Beko Egypt as a leader in the region’s home appliance industry.
The planned manufacturing facility will be designed to operate with zero waste and will include innovative waste management and recycling systems. The plant will also adopt water-saving technology and rely on renewable energy sources, ensuring its commitment to sustainability.
According to Umit Gunel, the general manager of Beko Egypt, the newly established factory will not only enhance the local supplier ecosystem but also align with the government’s vision of promoting industrial localization and positioning Egypt as a hub for production and export to international markets.
