Kenyan tycoon Ronald Karauri’s Sportpesa unveils restructuring plan
Sportpesa, a leading gaming brand led by Kenyan tycoon Ronald Karauri has announced a major restructuring process aimed at improving its technology and systems for an enhanced customer experience.
As part of the restructuring process, the company, which offers a wide range of sports betting options, casino games, and virtual sports betting, is committed to providing an enjoyable and seamless experience for its customers.
The restructuring will focus on streamlining operations, upgrading technology, and strengthening customer support. These efforts are aimed at providing a seamless and enjoyable experience for Sportpesa’s customers and expanding the company’s reach to new markets.
“We are committed to providing our customers with the best experience possible,” Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri said. “This restructuring is necessary to ensure we stay ahead of the competition and continue to grow as a company. We are confident that these changes will enable us to deliver an even better service to our customers and further solidify our position as the premier gaming brand in Africa.”
SportPesa is a leading sports news and betting technology company with operations in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria, Italy, Ireland, and the Isle of Man. It was initially launched by Pevans East Africa, the now-defunct holding company that pioneered betting in Kenya.
Pevans East Africa ceased operations in 2019 after losing its license for alleged non-payment of taxes totaling Ksh95 billion ($806.5 million) and concerns about increased gambling addiction. The SportPesa brand was relaunched by Milestone Games, a group controlled by Karauri, and other investors linked to Pevans East Africa.
Under the leadership of the Karauri, SportPesa has grown into a global gaming company with more than 500 employees and offices in six countries since it began operations in Kenya more than six years ago, with plans for rapid expansion into new territories.
The restructuring process is expected to take a few weeks and will cause no disruption to Sportpesa’s operations, as customers can continue to enjoy the same high-quality service they have come to expect from Sportpesa.
