Snoop Dogg launches cannabis brand
Snoop Dogg, a legendary rapper and cannabis industry entrepreneur and investor, has announced the launch of a new cannabis brand as a subsidiary of Death Row Records, according to a news report by HipHopDX.
The announcement was made on Thursday on Death Row Records’ Instagram page. Snoop Dogg acquired the Death Row Records music label in early 2022.
Death Row Records’ cannabis products will be available in California beginning in early January, first at Cookies dispensaries, which were founded by rapper Berner. The brand will initially sell flower, but it intends to later release diamond-infused cannabis pre-rolls.
According to the report, Death Row Records played a pivotal role in cannabis culture history by releasing Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle.
Despite the fact that the Death Row Records cannabis brand has nothing to do with his previous cannabis ventures, Snoop Dogg was one of the first celebrities to enter the legal cannabis industry with the launch of Leafs By Snoop, a Colorado cannabis brand.
He is also a minority shareholder in Casa Verde Capital, a cannabis venture capital fund that raised $94.7 million in its second round of investment funding in 2020.
