African-American comedy mogul Kevin Hart to launch plant-based restaurant in LA next week

African-American comedian and entrepreneur Kevin Hart will launch his plant-based restaurant, Hart House, on Aug. 25 in Los Angeles.

The Hart House menu is made entirely of plant-based ingredients and free of artificial colors, preservatives, and high-fructose corn syrup.

Hart hopes the restaurant will be able to satisfy even the most ferocious carnivores with its 100-percent plant-based, affordable fast-food menu of burgers, sandwiches, and fries.

According to an Instagram post by Hart, the restaurant will collaborate on its grand opening with Inner City Arts, an LA-based establishment that provides a safe, artistic space where more than 200,000 children come to create, explore, and play.

In keeping with his existing partnership with Inner City Arts, Hart announced that he will donate 10 percent of his restaurant’s opening day profits to support youth in Los Angeles and beyond.

In addition to Hart House’s launch in Los Angeles, the quick-service restaurant hopes to open in New York in a bid to uproot the fast-food industry.

Hart, who conceptualized the plant-based restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic, is not yet a vegan but has praised the benefits of eating a plant-based diet.

“Just because you decide to try plant-based doesn’t mean you have to be engulfed in that world… Learn about it, understand it, and see if there are any benefits that apply to you,” Hart told podcaster Joe Rogan during an episode of the JRE podcast in 2020.
