Auto Hall, a Moroccan automotive group led by businessman Abdellatif El-Guerraoui, has formed a partnership with FCA Maroc to distribute leading automotive brand products.
FCA Maroc is a subsidiary of Amsterdam-based Stellantis.
As part of the agreement, Auto Hall will use its strong distribution network and long experience in the automotive industry to market the products of major automotive brands such as Fiat, Fiat Professionnel, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, and Jeep.
The agreement will also result in the formation of a special purpose subsidiary called Societe marocaine de l’automobile moderne (SMAM), which will operate as a dealer under Auto Hall.
In line with Auto Hall’s long-term growth plans, the partnership will allow the group to increase its market share and turnover, while leveraging Stellantis’ robust portfolio of approximately 15 brands, including Opel and Maserati, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Fiat Professionnel, and Abarth.
Experts believe the partnership will improve Auto Hall’s performance in 2022 after it experienced a 10-percent drop in revenue in the first quarter of 2022 due to a decline in the PC/LCV automotive market.
The decline in the group’s performance is largely due to the persistence of disruptions in global automobile production caused by a shortage of semi-conductors, which impacted automakers’ operations.
Auto Hall is a Moroccan automotive group that distributes multi-brand rolling stock throughout Morocco. For more than a century, it has been in the automotive industry, marketing multi-make vehicles in Morocco.
Under El-Guerraoui, a leading businessman who has been a key player in the automotive group since 1998, Auto Hall has seen its brand expand to over 16 brands in the automotive, mining, industrial, public works, agriculture, and oil sectors.
The group presently has 50 sites in its distribution network, putting it in first place in the Moroccan automotive market.
