African-American comedy mogul Kevin Hart to open plant-based restaurants in LA
African-American comedian and entrepreneur Kevin Hart plans to open plant-based restaurants in Los Angeles under the Hart House brand, which aims to satisfy consumer taste buds with a 100-percent plant-based and affordable fast-food menu of burgers, sandwiches, and fries.
As part of the new venture, the superstar comedian will collaborate with established restaurateur and Hart House CEO Andy Hooper to deliver the first Hart House, which will open this summer in Hollywood, a district within the city of Los Angeles.
The quick-service restaurant chain, which has expressed an interest in launching later in New York, hopes to uproot the fast-food industry by focusing on sustainable, affordable, and crave-able products.
The Hart House menu is plant-based and free of artificial colors, preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup. Hart hopes the food quality will satisfy even the most ferocious carnivores.
At a private tasting for the brand, Hooper revealed that Hart conceptualized the idea at the start of the pandemic, and “just after almost two years of really working on this menu and getting the food to a place where it can deliver on that promise, we’re ready to go, and we’re excited to tell the world about Hart House and excited to serve the food.”
