Egyptian entrepreneur Ayman Bazaraa’s Sprints raises $1.2 million to expand tech skills in Middle East and Africa
Sprints, a Cairo-based edtech startup led by Egyptian entrepreneur Ayman Bazaraa, has raised $1.2 million in seed funding from angel investors as it prepares to scale its tech skills learning programs in the Middle East and Africa.
Sprints was co-founded in 2019 by Bazaraa with the primary goal of bridging the tech talent gap among youths. Since its inception three years ago, it has provided more than 20,000 learning experiences, resulting in more than 80-percent employment rates.
The startup assesses talent, provides a customized learning journey for its users, and guarantees a high-paying job upon completion of the learning programs through its end-to-end solution.
In addition, the Cairo-based ed-tech startup helps its alumni advance in their careers as part of the effort to equip the youth with the tech skills required to transform the Middle East and Africa into a leading global tech hub.
Alexandria Angels Network, one of Egypt’s first angel investors, led the fundraising transaction, which also included MED Angels and other investors such as AUC Angels, Cubit Ventures, Challenge Fund, EdVentures, Falak Startups and Cairo Angels.
The $1.2-million investment from angel investors will be used to expand its Guaranteed-Hiring Learning Programs across the Middle East and Africa.
Sprints Co-Founder and CEO Ayman Bazaraa said that over the next three years Sprints will revolutionize the tech sector by upskilling and employing 1 million youth.
