Ghanaian tycoon Daniel McKorley’s McDan Group opens private jet terminal in Accra
McDan Group of Companies, an Accra-based transportation and logistics company founded and led by Ghanaian businessman Daniel McKorley, has opened its first private jet terminal at an international airport in Accra, Ghana’s capital city.
McDan Group is a transportation and logistics company with interests in shipping, logistics and aviation. Its operations extend to other West African countries, with a presence in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Equatorial Guinea.
According to GhanaWeb, the ultra-modern private jet terminal at Kotoka International Airport Accra will begin commercial private jet services with three planes and one helicopter under the McDan Aviation brand.
McDan Commercial Private Jet Services will cater to high-end clients who want to maximize their luxury, as well as corporate executives who want to leverage a quick and efficient commute for business purposes.
The group stated that the facility has been outfitted to provide first-rate aviation services to all passengers, particularly those in business class.
The new operation, which falls under the McKorley-led group’s diverse range of interests, is a strategic attempt to boost business and tourism in Ghana, and its arrival will aid in diversifying the group’s income streams as it moves to leverage gains from revenue diversification.
While commenting on the strategic move, McKorley, founder and CEO, said the aviation business will not only provide convenience for businesspeople, but also directly employ more than 400 Ghanaians.
McKorley added that the company is making additional arrangements to acquire other aircraft, including a Challenger 604 Bombardier, a Gulfstream jet, and helicopters, to offer air-ambulance medical and domestic tourism services.
