The Nigeria-based SeamlessHR has secured $10 million in a Series-A funding round led by the pan-African venture capital firm, TLcom Capital, as it gears up to expand its operations across core market segments in Africa.
SeamlessHR is a Nigerian HR tech startup founded by Emmanuel Okeleji and Deji Lana in 2018 to provide world-class technology solutions to manage and streamline HR data and workflow.
As the first locally managed HR company in Africa, the startup provides HR solutions for African employers and meets the demands of enterprises on the continent in line with its commitment to help African businesses leverage their greatest asset: human capital.
The round was led by TLcom Capital, an Africa-focused VC firm with offices in Lagos, Nairobi and London.
Capria Ventures, a leading global impact investment firm that works with local fund managers in emerging markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America, also participated in the Series-A round.
The startup announced that the proceeds from the round will be used to strengthen SeamlessHR’s position as Africa’s leading cloud HR and payroll platform, as the startup expands its operations into new market segments in Southern and East Africa, with Kenya and South Africa acting as its operational hub.
Okeleji, SeamlessHR co-founder and CEO, said the new capital will place the company in the position to expand its operations and optimize its expansion, as it moves to the next phase of growth as a startup.
“Thanks to our customers, we have become the leading cloud HR and Payroll SaaS in Africa in such a short time. But this is only the beginning. We are fanatical about customer success and this funding will enable us to invest in the continuous optimization of customer experience across all touchpoints, adding new features and functionalities to empower enterprises as they continue their incredible growth,” he said.
